Besides humans, Japanese Macaques, or snow monkeys, live farther north than any other primate. In the cold winter of the Joshinetsu Plateau, they lounge in the natural hot springs of Jigokudani Wild Monkey Park. Not all the fun belongs to the monkeys. Yudanaka-Shibu Onsen is the nearby hot springs area for human enjoyment.
